Gull Cottage is located in one of the UK's finest coastal positions at Porthcothan Bay and enjoys unrivaled and uninterupted views of cliff, beach and sea through over 180 degrees. A gateway from the garden leads directly onto the North Cornwall Coastal path and nearby Golden Burn beach is barely 100 yards walk.

Porthcothan Bay is widely recognised as one of Cornwall's most beautiful beaches and regularly features in national advertising campaigns run by both the local tourist authority and commercial organisations. Situated just a few miles south of the busy harbour town of Padstow with its acclaimed seafood cuisine, Porthcothan is part of the "seven bays for seven days" grouping of beaches. These include Constantine, Trevone and Treyarnon which are all close by.

The tidal range in the bay is up to seven metres which provides for interesting beach conditions with rocky headlands and pools being exposed at low tide. The cliffs are rich in wildlife and to the north they are protected by National Trust ownership. To the south west it is a relatively short work along the coast path to the famous Bedruthan Steps. Beyond is the busy town of Newquay and the famous Fistral Beach.

Access to North Cornwall is now much improved with regular flights from London to Newquay and short breaks in this part of Cornwall are now easily entertained with Gull Cottage's convenient friday change over.
