Porthcothan Bay near
Padstow: a 180 degree panoramic view |
|
Porthcothan Bay is widely recognised as one of Cornwall's most beautiful
beaches and regularly features in national advertising campaigns run by
tourist authorities and commercial organisations. Our Porthcothan
Gallery features a number of images of the bay. Porthcothan is situated just a few miles south of Padstow and is part of the "seven bays for seven days" grouping of beaches with Constantine, Trevone and Treyarnon all close by. The tidal range is up to seven metres which provides interesting beach conditions with rocky headlands and pools being exposed at low tide. The cliffs are rich in wildlife and to the north of the bay protected by national trust ownership. To the south west it is a relatively short work along the coast path to the famous Bedruthan Steps. Beyond is the busy town of Newquay and the famous Fistral Beach. Gull Cottage itself,
is situated adjacent to the North Cornwall coastal path and just one hundred
metres from the beautiful Golden Burn beach. It offers comfortable accomodation
and exceptional coastline and sea views which can be enjoyed at all stages
of the tide. The convenient village shop at the head of the bay can be
accessed by the coastal path in just a few minutes. Gull Cottage is available for holidays throughout the main season and further information on pricing and availability can be obtained from Harbour Holidays: 1 North Quay Tel: 01841 532555 Further information about: Holiday cottages in North Cornwall |
